    Hey Pastor

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the entire FBIM family. I’m at my sisters house in MIlwaukee. My sister Deb is getting discharged today. I don’t think I could be more thankful. God is sooo good! Luv you all. TL

Hi Pastors and FBI Familia –

We are so grateful for you and Pastor Robin and so thankful that you were obedient to God’s calling for you.

I can totally relate to the full feeling. And this is bad, but even though I was full, I made sure I ate a piece of flan before going to bed AND then again for breakfast. I couldn’t get enough of it so I took it to the church for others to enjoy so I wouldn’t eat the whole thing.

Anyway, I’m starting a movement. I say movement cause I think it sounds so cool (he, hee). My movement is for every family to have a baby Jesus cake at Christmas time. Now I realize that we can’t go into Pick & Save or Sentry and buy one, YET, so I can provide directions at some point to make it. I’ve done this with the kids the last couple years and we just love it and others that I told about it love it too. I basically want to put the Christ back in Christmas and make it a tradition in every house in the world. I want kids to know that it’s about Jesus being born and then we can have fun with gifts etc. Anyway, my baby Jesus cake has 3 layers - black aka chocolate, red aka strawberry, green aka died white cake. The black is our sin, the red is the blood he shed for us and the green is our cleansing. It’s frosted in white which symbolizes us being pure white in the eyes of God. The shape is a circle which symbolizes his never ending love for us. I put 12 candles on it and we all light the candles which symbolize that he can shine in our hearts every month of the year…not just at Christmas time. There is other stuff too but you get the jist of it. At the end of the baby Jesus ceremony, we invite any unsaved guests to invite Jesus into their heart and make him their Lord and Savior. It’s really a blessing, a good time and sets the tone for the day!

God Bless You and we love you all soooo very much!!!!

Wow, Lisa, that Jesus cake sounds like a really good idea and delicious, too! I think we’ll have to try it at my house… :o) As for me, I’m thankful for the many blessings God has given me. He’s planted me in a great church where I can bloom and grow, He’s enveloped my whole family in his loving arms, and He’s nursed me back to health, both spiritually and physically. Best of all, He sent me a little peace of heaven in Kai!! Kathy

    God Bless You Kathy,

I’m so happy for your healing. I know exactly how you feel. I feel so blessed to be at our church. You know, I’m not from Milwaukee and if I ever get to go back home, I’m not too sure I’d want to. I feel so blessed. God has given me a family apart from my family. You say you have a little peace of heaven in Kai, when you make the baby Jesus cake for Christ-mas, not only will you have a piece of heaven you will have a taste of heaven too (he, hee).

Wishing you all my love, hugs, and kisses,

    Lisa

Lisa, I just discovered that Pastor is blogging so I’m catching up on what I’ve been missing. This cake sounds delicious and a wonderful teaching tool! I’m a “Hero” with Jump Start and got so excited about your “Jesus Cake” that I called Muriel, our Director, to see if it was ok if I baked this cake for our class and she enthusiastically said “YES!” We’re going to have it this Sunday (12/21). I’ll also print out a card containing your descriptive symbolism of the cake to hand out to parents as they pick up their children. We’ll be taking pictures too!
Thanks for “Connecting” me with such a great idea! I’ll let you know how it all works out!
    ~Blessings

WOW! This is such a blessing for me to read. I would LOVE to see pictures and get a word about how it went. Would be awesome if Pastor could post the pics and mention it to the church.

Our baby Jesus celebration was awesome. I had an unexpected visit from a family with 2 young children so we did the celebration with them. Man, they LOVED it. I just know that they are going to do this every year with their loved ones. One of their little ones loved baby Jesus SO much that after the celebration he took the baby Jesus with him. Too cute. It was just awesome!
