Our American Idol Son’s

Well, finally it’s out! Yes, Danny Gokey and Jamar Rogers have made it on to American Idol. The whole nation is talking about it. As most of you know, Danny and Jamar sing on our praise and worship team. Danny was actually our praise and worship leader for years in both our Milwaukee and Beloit locations. Danny made all the rehearsals as well, until his precious wife Sophie went to be with the Lord! Danny needed to take a break for a season to heal. But, it didn’t take long before he was back on the front line singing again! Jamar has been singing on the team for some time as well. Jamar has a tremendous story of God’s healing power. He was completely healed of cancer. Wow, how awesome God is! These two men are not just apart of our church, but apart of our family! They both call me there spiritual father. I’m honored to say the least. They are two of the most humble, sincere people, that you will ever meet. They are the real deal! We are so very proud of them and wish them the very best in where this journey is taking them. But, beyond the lights, beyond the applause and beyond the fanfare they are STARS to me and our church family! We love them very much…touch the world guys, God has given you the platform! Pastor

I could not be more thankful to God for blessing Danny and Jamar with such talent, and an opportunity to use it for his glory. They are both so humble and faith filled I am awestruck everytime I think about what they have overcome and at such youthful ages. Even aside from the musical accomplishments I look up to both of them for their great amount of faith and endurance.I believe these two represent the Joseph experience and because of all of their hard work, dreams are becoming a reality and I know if God does it for them he will also for me and everyone else willing to work hard and follow his voice because he is not a respector of persons. My Joseph experience is at the threshold and I’m preparing to receive it. Are You?

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto!!!! It brought me to tears when I saw our brothers in Christ on National TV (or should I say, on video). I am so very proud to be a part of their family and to see what good is coming from this. God is so awesome! Before you know it, it will be time to vote, so get those phones ready and call!
God’s blessings to both Danny and Jamar, we stand strong with you in your new adventure.

We are so proud of our boys! This is going to be a fantastic journey for them. And for all of us in the Faith Builders family as well! Not so long ago, Kim Clement prophesied that God was going to invade the secular music scene. Who knew it would come straight outta Milwaukee!!! We are truly at the beginning of a new season. A greater season. A greater level! Well….you know the rest.

So, Danny and Jamar, we love you. We support you. And you are the next American Idols!!!

To our FBIM family, stay prayed-up! The world is now truly watching!

To our Senior Pastors, it’s your love, support, prayers, faith and obedience to God that gives us the example and encouragement to go out and ‘go beyond our limitations’! All our love to you as well.

I enjoy reading everyone’s comments. As a church family we really do have love for one another. Here are mine, pardone the length,as I “flow”.

Prayer is uniquely important at this time. We can’t think that the enemy is going to let God win without a fight. Mark my words, he’s going to attack and with brute force. It’s already started, but I won’t go into that now.

What we a body and church are about to embark on is huge, in the natural and in the spiritual. There are supernatural battles we must prepare for. Battles against our church, our Pastors, our members and for those who are not saved but will be.

My personal prayer is that I am not found sleeping when I should be praying. Jesus told his disciples, “All of you must keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (Amplified)

What Jesus was about to endure was established before the foundations of the earth. So, why did he ask his disciples to pray? He asked them to pray so that they wouldn’t enter into temptation (lure, pull, entice, attract). Peter, James & John were supposed to be there to protect Jesus in case of a sneak attack that could occur while he prayed. He was exposing his entire soul to the Father at what was one of the most vulnerable times of his life. Unarguably, the cross was the point of ultimate exposure, when vulnerability yields to sacrifice. Thank you Jesus.

I can’t think of any other modern day vulnerability than to be on television, opening yourself up to the entire world, while others goggle your name 24/7. Then try to keep your senses and not forget “whose” you are while all that distraction is going on. Excuse my English, but if that ain’t “exposed” then I don’t know what is!

The first thing out of our mouths is “I’m prayin, I’ll be prayin for ya”, but are we really? This thing is already done, we know it. Yet, we have to do what Peter, James & John didn’t do; stay awake!!! Not just for Danny & Jamar but for ourselves.

I don’t mean to get all “deep”, I’m just not trying to let myself get caught up in the hype. Yes,it’s going to happen,it already has (like the when I saw them on tv), but I want to keep my spiritual feet grounded, taking nothing for granted, thanking God for all things, interceeding in their behalf.

    Hello Everyone -

This is a quote from Barack Obama’s letter to his daughters on why he ran for President, “Because it is only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will realize your true potential.”

Danny and Jamar are going to have a tough ride with American Idol. On the outside it may look like a pretty thing, they are on tv, doing interviews, etc. However, there is an ugly side to this too. You see, there are people that didn’t have the courage to step out in faith like our guys are doing so they have to attack them with words (negative words). Well words are seeds, whether they are good or bad. When I think of our guys there is a verse that stands out like no other and it’s the one that says “show any tongue that rise up against me to be in the wrong.” God’s word says where 2 or more are gathered, his will be done. Can you agree with me to pray this over our guys and our Pastors. We are blessed to have the church we have and with that blessing comes obligation. Let’s agree together and pray this verse.

Thank you and God Bless You ALL!!!

It’s so amazing how God works everything out. During the 21 day fast at FBIM I had been praying for my coworkers. They are great people. They are the type of people who believe that being just “a good person” is enough, and it is so hard to get people like that to see and realize that it takes so much more; Being just “a good person” is just not enough! I had been praying for them. When Danny & Jamar started their American Idol journey, thats when my coworkers became a little more interested in FBIM. (eventhough I tell ‘um all the time)
Last week I am sitting in my office and one of my coworkers is screamin’, “Gary come quick!” She opens up Us Weekly Magazine and their is a picture of Danny along with a brief story about Sophia. Needless to say, they are all excited about knowing someone that knows someone that knows someone…. They are excited about voting and I’m tryna get them to come hangout with us to watch it live. They wanna meet Danny & Jamar so bad, and I tell them, “well all you have to do is come to our church.” Ohhh Boy, and when they do, thats when the power of God is gonna HIT ‘UM SO HARD! I know it! I’m so excited that God is doing what we want to see happen with these two guys: Winning Souls!!! I know because of Danny & Jamar my coworkers will come to know God.
It’s so amazing how He works because I never thought it would happen this way.
Thanks Danny & Jamar for just being who you are!
    Gary
