Assignments vs. Mandates

Recently the Lord spoke to me concerning “assignments and mandates.” I was on my deck about 2 weeks ago enjoying a cool beverage and just thinking about how incredibly blessed I am. I then started to think about the wonderful success that Danny Gokey has had through A.I. How his life will never be the same again! I was just talking to the Lord about it and I said; ” Lord, there’ such a mandate on his life!” After saying this I was reminded of a time, in my life, that was so painful and frustrating! I was so filled with hope for something to work out, but it just would not work, no matter what I tried! I then wanted out of that particular task, because I could not bear to be in such a place of “stretching” and embarrassment! But I knew in my heart that I couldn’t just walk away from it! I then began to think where I was at in my life today and how, though there has been tough moments, it has been the most fulfilling and quite frankly, easiest thing I have ever done! The Lord spoke at that moment and said…the assignment is as much my will as the mandate! The difference between an assignment and the mandate is that an assignment changes YOU while a mandate changes OTHERS! I realized that even though the painful experince was tough, it was very much the will of God for my life. Why? It was designed to change me so that I could get to my mandate, in order to change others! You may be in a tough time in your life, but don’t try to get out of it…it’s all apart of your story, to make you better for where God’s taking you! The quicker you realize that, the quicker you’ll be on your way to your mandate!!!

I enjoyed reading the “tweet”. I’m more touched by how the revelation came about. This Word, dear Pastor, has relevance for the season of which I’m presently in. I think I get it: Assignments & Mandates, are equally important to God, each carrying with it a unique and separate purpose. I’m going to stay with this one awhile and let it become part of me,~Selah. Thank you!

Wow. Thank you. Your message was delivered with an annointing. As I ponder the storms He’s brought me through, I remember my consistent cry “I’m a victim Lord, Whoa is me,” and I can see He fought every battle and I always came out a winner. We are destined to win! As hard as it was I no longer feel the painful sting, freeing me to pour out a blessing on the life of another; and yes it has prepared me, for the mandate He has placed on my life. The Lord has taught me to view each trial as an opportunity to be blessed, seeing it as an adventure!
I have to share this with a dear sister who today shared 2Cor 6:1-10 in which Paul rolled out a list of painful assignments, with which his overcoming experience still blesses us to this day.
What a wonderful word. Praise God! Thank you Pastor.

I needed to add a note about Danny Gokey. He has changed so many lives with the mandate he has been given. His encouragement to let go facilitated a resolve I needed to make in a friendship, to let go of issues that would damage our relationship. His blogs inspired me to create my own blog!
I followed his journey on Idol and can see the comraderie that exists between the contestants. Danny has taken the garden of Eden that exists within him, the Blessing, and is spreading it wherever he goes. His speech is purposeful and he plants seeds with it. The harvest is already beginning to open up, for him while blessing us in the process. It has been a thrill to see it.
